I started at FINGO as a student intern. After 11 years, I left to gain new experience. I came back because of the atmosphere, thanks to which many people have been working here for years.
Łukasz Wycisk started working at FINGO in 2007 with a student internship. "I was in my second year and here I gained my first experience as a developer," he recalls. What he liked about the company was the atmosphere and work culture. "I met a lot of interesting people here, with whom I can have a pleasant time in the office. The company also cares about its customers and provides quality services." - he explains. After 11 years he wanted some change. "I hadn't worked anywhere before. I wanted to look around in the market, see what it's like at other companies and develop other skills." He returned after three years. Today, as a JAVA software architect. He appreciates the human contact at work. "I like how they take care of the atmosphere. Being in the office is not only about doing your job, but also about having a nice time," - he explains. "That's why many people have been working at FINGO for years. And it transfers into quality work and helps create close-knit teams."
I was convinced to joined Fingo because of the recruitment process, and the implementation only confirmed it for me.
Maciej Górski has been working at FINGO for a year as SysOps. When he decided to strengthen our administrative team in May 2021, his choice of employer was determined by... the recruitment process itself. "During the interview, I got well-prepared tests in terms of content, a full list of tasks and responsibilities, as well as a bulleted list of processes and resources available to the company," he explains. "As a new employee, in addition to the hardware and software, I also got a reliably and clearly prepared list of tasks, which made it easier for me to find my way in the new job." FINGO turned out to be an organization that emphasizes cooperation and freedom which is another advantage. "Employees have an impact on what direction the company goes and the tools we use," he says. - he adds. "At the same time, this is followed by the responsibility associated with making decisions that will affect our future."
Learning a new technology usually helps to look at the existing problems differently. The transition from the service part to the product part also changed my approach to things that happen inside the company and it turned out to be good for me.
Hubert Jedrzejek has been working at FINGO since 2015. He worked as a PHP developer for couple of years, but now as a Java developer. Some time ago, FINGO decided to stop providing services in PHP, and the employees who had been doing this up to that point began the process of changing technologies. They had a choice between Java, which is needed for working on FINGO's product, or Nodejs, which is developed for providing services to clients. "I decided on Java because it's a language with strong typing, and that's the direction of PHP was going. Another fact was that Java is a fairly stable language," as Hubert explains. Developers who decided to switch technologies get time by the company to learn the new language through access to courses on Udemy, for example, or experienced colleagues helps them with new technology. After the initial training, Hubert joined the Asist team. "It takes time to wrap up even your part of such a large project as Asist. It took at least two months before I could grasp the average difficulty of tasks without constantly asking the old birds where something lies and whether if I move one piece of code, it won't affect another project. Now it's a little easier, and at least I know who and what to ask," he recalls the beginnings of his work after the change in technology. While change can be stressful for many of us and Hubert also talks about it, but he adds, "In general, learning a new technology usually helps to look at existing problems in a different way. Also, the fact that I moved from the service part to the product part which also changed my approach to things that happen inside the company. In this case I think the transition worked out for me."
What I value at FINGO is the work-life balance, understanding and openness towards every employee, and a healthy approach to responsibilities.
When Bartosz Stryczewski decided to leave FINGO after 7 years of cooperation, he immediately assumed the possibility of returning. "It has always been said at FINGO that every person who leaves the company comes back after some time," he says. The decision to leave was based on the need to prove himself in a different environment and new technologies. "I don't regret it, because it allowed me to look at several aspects of my professional life from a different perspective. However, as time passed, it became obvious that the moment was inevitably approaching to recruit at FINGO again. Also, there were the umpteenth consecutive requests to join the call at 21 to patch up applications in production which poured a spell of bitterness." - he recalls. "What I appreciate about FINGO is the work-life balance, the understanding and openness towards every employee, and the healthy approach to responsibilities. Also, once again I am a 'freshman'. It took me two years to decide to return, but the company's history knows cases of returning after just four days."
